Shooting at Night Challenge | Louisville Senior Photographer
I entered a Low Light Photography Challenge because I wanted to push myself and grow as a photographer. I joined a group of photographers that specialize in Senior Photography. Within this group are some amazing mentors, and they come up with monthly challenges for us, so that we can stretch ourselves and try things we have never done. This past month the theme was Shooting at Night. I had my amazing 2017 Senior Model, Katie Clutter, help me. We went down to Bardstown Road and on a Monday night and had tons of fun! We didn’t get home until after midnight, but it was so worth it! We won the contest. Stephanie Lynn Johnson graduated from Atherton High School in 2015. I found her on the Louisville Models FB page, and we set up a test shoot. I asked Stephanie how she got into modeling and she said her passion is actually makeup artistry. The first time she got in front of the camera as a model was when she was assisting another photographer on a shoot, and he asked her to get in front of the camera for just a minute. He posted some of those pictures of her on a modeling page and since then she has been busy with many different modeling shoots. I found Stephanie to be so sweet, smart and funny! I loved spending time with her. I did something different, than I normally do on location shoots. I used off camera flash for these pictures, and I love the way it added a little extra pop and contrast to the pictures!

It’s Derby Time in Kentucky! | 2017 Senior Models
Oh my goodness, how pretty do Leah, Kayla, Amanda and Alexia look! They are all dressed up in the outfits that they are going to wear for the Kentucky Derby, that’s taking place, this Saturday, right here, in Louisville! Here at Avery’s Photography, we do monthly events for my Senior Models, and we love giving them a voice to help decide what they want the theme to be. They picked Derby Time, and we went with it. We have more individual pictures of them, but we are saving them for their parents to see, when they view their Senior Pictures Gallery, later, this summer!
