If you are thinking about having your Senior Portrait Session in a rustic, rural location, you may want to consider having it at Blackacre Nature Preserve in Louisville! This is a perfect senior session to help give you some ideas!
One of my very favorite places to take Senior Pictures is Blackacre Farm in Louisville, Ky. It is so breathtakingly beautiful and never gets “old” to me. There are so many different backdrops that have beautiful textures, such as the rustic brown wooden barn and the worn wooden fences. You will notice immediately as you enter the farm that lining the long gravel road are gorgeous trees that let the sunlight shine through just perfectly. There is also tall golden grass inter mingled with beautiful wild flowers, depending on the season. When possible, during the school year, book your senior pictures during the day instead of in the evening. I have found that we practically have the whole farm to ourselves! We can’t ask for more than that!
I love how Andie chose to wear her red prom dress to have her Senior Pictures taken in! There is such a contradiction between the formality of her dress and the casual feel of the farm, but it works PERFECTLY! You would never know by the relaxed look on her face that it was only 48 degrees out that day!
I recommend using a hair and makeup artist, even if you don’t wear makeup or wear very little. Andie typically wears very little, but Michaela, the makeup artist applied it just perfectly so that it’s not “over done”. It just looks natural and pretty. It makes a huge difference in the results of the final pictures.
